About Us
Casa Arvale
We love our home in the adorable town of Los Barriles in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Inside, our home is comfortable, homey, and well appointed. Outdoors there are lots of spots to enjoy the warmth of Mexico and yet be shaded from the hot sun, including the pool and cabana in the backyard. The views of the Sea of Cortez from the front patio, the kitchen window, and the rooftop patio are breathtaking. The backyard boasts lemon trees, a lime tree, a mango tree, and an olive tree, as well as many other indigenous and flowering trees. We even have a resident iguana… Ignacio is what we've named him.
Upstairs you'll find the kitchen, dining area, living room, a bedroom with two queen beds and A/C, bathroom, terrace, and back patio with lots of room to sunbathe, enjoy a cup of coffee, or relax with a margarita!
Downstairs we have a studio casita with a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a full bathroom; the studio has its own small patio. Although there is no AC in the casita…being on the garden level, it seems to be quite cool most of the time.
There is ample space to park inside the property. The property is fully fenced, so if you are bringing your pet, you should be fine. Just check with us first.
We also have a staircase to the rooftop where we spend every morning watching the sun come up over the Sea of Cortez. You will love it.
The beach is a two-minute walk up our quiet road, and you will find that the snorkelling is outstanding. We have loads of snorkelling equipment that guests are welcome to use. The swimming is great on our beach too!
Tres Palapas Pickleball Resort is located within a 5-minute walk from the house as well…though in a different direction from the beach; at Tres Palapas you will find a restaurant, a bar, 11 pickleball courts, and loads of fun.
Transportation, fishing, car and/or ATV rental, cleaning, catering/cooking/chef, and other services are not included in the rate.
Los Barriles
Los Barriles is the best little Baja town. It is safe and easy to navigate. Loads of terrific restaurants (there is even pizza delivery), horseback riding excursions, motorcycle, quad, and bike rentals, & fishing guides (the fishing is outstanding).
There are artists, spas (keep that pedicure looking terrific), well-maintained mountain biking trails, and a nightlife that includes lots of great live music and dancing. (Salsa lessons, anyone?)
Every Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to noon, there is a fantastic market. Artisans, food, baking, and magic abound. Many of the vendors travel from as far away as La Paz to show you their goods. It's always worth a visit.
Our home is just outside of town, so it's quiet if you hit the hay early after a day of adventure in the great outdoors or close enough to the nightlife to drive home in about five minutes.
Los Barriles is centrally located, making it a quick drive to wonderful historic destinations such as El Triunfo and Todos Santos, and even La Paz is only an hour and a half or so away.
Another popular destination nearby is La Ventana…for the adventurous kite surfing and winging crowd or some more great mountain biking.
When flying into Baja Sur, you will book a flight to San Jose del Cabo…then either rent a car or get a cab for the 1-hour drive to our lovely home in Los Barriles. You can also call Wolf Management at 52-624-124-8171 to book your van. They know where Casa Arvale is located, so no worries in that department.

The entire house is powered by solar panels when the power grid goes down.
(All rates are in US dollars.)
- $180.00 a night for the entire Main House. The casa can sleep several people. It has one bedroom with a queen bed, a double bed, and a private bathroom;
- $50.00 extra per night includes the casita, which has a queen bed, twin bunk beds, and a private bathroom;
- $230.00 a night for the entire dwelling (the Casa and the Casita);
- $1,080.00 a week for the Main House (The Casa);
- $1,380.00 a week for the entire dwelling (the Casa and the Casita);
- $4,500.00 a month for the entire dwelling (the Casa and the Casita);
- There is a $100.00 additional cleaning fee if your stay is less than one week.
